Dr. Gary Bird

Gary Bird, DVM is an Arizona native who broke into the field of veterinary medicine as kennel help for a clinic and boarding facility in Phoenix.

After completing his Bachelor of Science at the University of Arizona, he graduated from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He became the veterinarian at the Pets Plus Pantano clinic (Rincon Vista’s previous name) in July of that year, and has remained ever since.

Dr. Bird is a member of the Southern Arizona Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. His focus is on general practice for dogs and cats, but he enjoys ultrasonography and surgery, especially orthopedics.

His family includes his wife Karen, daughter Caitlin, dogs Cranbeary, Ollie, and Blue, cats Kiwi and Mango, birds Moses, Princess, Figaro and Fawkes, and horses Bailey, Fable, Cisco and Spider.

Dr. Bird’s many diversions include cooking, cycling, horse back riding, tinkering around the house, and photography. He is also a PADI Master Scuba Instructor.
